What The Health
My lifestyle change regarding nutrition and health began in 2011. So many times before I had tried to “diet”. I wanted to lose weight, I wanted to look good. With these reasons as my goals I never made it past the two week mark of what I then thought was, “Healthy eating”.
It wasn’t until I changed my way of thinking that I was finally able to make a permanent change. Instead of doing it for egotistical reasons, I made the decision to do it for my health and well-being. As soon as I changed this way of thinking, everything changed.
Taking hold of my health was the best decision I have ever made. It opened doors for me that I never knew existed. It isn’t an easy task but once your mind has been made up, it’s a breeze. The clarity, and the happiness that accompanies a clean diet is addicting and anything less is never again an option. Everything in life just feels, better. It's incomprehensible to understand until you've experienced it.
Consisting of mostly prepackaged, canned, frozen, and fast foods, its easy to understand why the standard American diet is appealing to so many. With the highly addicting additives such as sugar, and preservatives, its also easy to see how we have become so addicted to these foods. Just like any other “addiction” we have to go through a “detox” or "withdrawal" period. I have found that after one week of zero processed sugars, I no-longer crave it. A clean diet takes work, and lots of it, but you are worth it, your sacred body is worth it, and it will thank you, I promise.
